Q200051 Additional mailboxes not configured with Instant MAPI

Unable to configure additional mailboxes in Instant Mail.

Cause 1 - Entered mailbox alias already exists
75% probability.
If a mailbox alias that is entered already partially exists in another alias, the mailbox will not be added as an additional mailbox.

Example:

HOFMAN
HOFMANS
HOFMANH

If a new mailbox is given as "HOFMAN", this mailbox will not be added because "HOFMAN" already occurs in the address list.

If a new mailbox is given as "HOFMANN", it will be added because no other "HOFMANN" occurs in the address list.
Solution 1.1 - Make mailbox name in Instant MAPI equal to
60% probability.
To resolve the issue, enter an = (equal to) character in front of the name. Now the address list is checked for names that are exactly equal (not partially). For example "=HOFMAN" is only equal to "HOFMAN" and no longer to "HOFMANS".
Solution 1.2 - Check mailbox names on Exchange Server
40% probability.
On Exchange, it is possible to create mailbox names that start with a space, but this can cause problems (also when entering the mailbox name directly in Outlook). Remove the space to resolve the problem(s).
Cause 2 - The user account is hidden from Exchange Address list
17% probability.
Microsoft Outlook uses the Exchange Address list to configure (additional) mailboxes. If the user is hidden from the Exchange Global address list, Outlook is unable to configure the (additional) mailbox.

This same behavior applies to a mail account that is configured with RES PowerFuse`s Instant Mail.
Solution 2.1 - Unhide the account from the Exchange address list to configure the mail settings for the first time
95% probability.
Unhide the account from the Exchange address list to configure the account for the first time. After Outlook is launched with the (additional) mailbox settings, the account can be hidden again from the Exchange address list.

You can configure "Hide from the Exchange address lists" on the Exchange advanced tab of the Microsoft Active Directory user properties.
Cause 3 - The Pre-Windows 2000 User/Group name is used for additional mailboxes
8% probability.
For backwards compatibility of RES PowerFuse with an NT4 domain, the Pre-Windows 2000 User/Group name is used for additional mailboxes. If this pre-Windows 2000 User/Group name is changed in the Active Directory, the additional mailbox is no longer created.
Solution 3.1 - Pre-Windows 2000 User/Group name is changed
95% probability.
To solve this, select the "new" User/Group name for the additional mailbox in the Additional mailboxes window.
